Three
kilometers of uphill walk through sylvian
surroundings. Deodhar and Kali Forests bring
one to a grassy plateau overlooking confluence
of River Beas, River Parvati and Bhuntar Airport
Runway down below in the valley. Top of
plateau has a traditional temple in stone
and timber. Reigning deity is Lord Siva,
the Mahadev, prefix to the temple BIJILI
means lightning. Lightning is known to be
struck every year this temple and
Shivaling which gets scattered, and
it is rejoined by butter and remains
intact till the next lightning strikes.
Even wooden veranda and roof often gets
shattered burned and is promptly repaired.
Bumpy drive 3 km short of the temple is up to ’PUID’ village about 15 km from the
APPLE VALLEY RESORT. |
